The 5 Types of Dresses Every Pair of Red Shoes Needs

Each pair of shoes has its own uniqueness, not to mention its colour – black shoes give you classy, sleek and mysterious look while white one comes with properness and neatness. Brown goes great with bohemian and vintage; but, when it comes to red heels, first thing on your mind would be hot and blazing but also energetic and joyful. When you once try this flashy colour, you just can’t seem to get enough of it!

Cheer simplicity

Rule number one, if you want your red shoes to stand out – keep your outfit simple, or else your total appearance might get a little too much. Open your closet and pick out your basic or earth-tone clothes. White, black, brown or beige are your best choices here. Stick to minimal kind of attire, without pattern and whatnot. This is to avoid mismatching in colour and let your shoes eye-catching than ever.

Go for denim!

A pair of jeans is a life-saver and everyone knows it – also goes along well with red shoes. Try a cropped blue or white denim plus red heels to make your legs go all the way up from displaying your ankles. On top of that, red colour will definitely brighten your skin. Fun sized girls jot this down!

Red all the way

Tired of mixing and matching? Why don’t you try dressing all red instead? Your shoes can be any shade of red: maroon, burgundy, crimson, scarlet – you name it! Just keep in mind to choose
the same shades of red for top and bottom – or a whole red dress will do.

Go beyond ordinary – printed wardrobe

Fashion geeks were born to rebel: breaking, bending and changing rules is what you do for a living plus you have been told to go back to basic when you walk on red pumps, so what about give fashion trials and errors a try? If you careful enough to pick the right printed clothes to go with red heels, you might discover your fifth dimension of fashion. Grab your embroidery tank top or printed mini skirt with a little touch of redness or play along with your accessories like red handbags or clutches and you are all set. Still, wearing same old heels could be tiresome, spice things up a bit with a whole another kind of footwear. Besides pointy heels that are always a great choice for sexy looks, strappy heels furnish your boho soul that everyone crazes for.

If you find yourself constantly pulling out the same pair of black pumps for every occasion, you may be stuck in a style rut. While black shoes are undoubtedly easy to wear, they’re not the most original of fashion choices. From metallics and pastels to bright, bold hues, there’s a whole rainbow of chic coloured shoes just waiting for you. So, whether you love the sunny hue of a pair of yellow heels or are more into the unexpected uniqueness of some silver brogues, here are some easy outfit ideas to make styling coloured shoes as simple as those black pumps.

What to Wear with Red Shoes

Red shoes are undoubtedly bold and eye catching. The vibrant hue is quick to pull focus and become a dominating feature of your outfit. By choosing to pair your red shoes with simple, black and white pieces, you’ll ensure that your shoes get all the attention. Likewise, colours close to red, such as pink and orange, will also sit nicely next to your shoes. They will subdue the vibrant hue and become a secondary feature of the look. Navy and grey will also match well as basic tones, while blues, such as cobalt, will balance bright red and share the attention.

What to Wear with Orange Shoes

When styling coloured footwear, it’s best to apply some colour theory to decide what to wear. As orange and blue are across from each other on the colour wheel, they are complementary colours, meaning that when they are paired together, they look great. Choose a light blue shirt and some jeans for an outfit that instantly looks great with orange shoes. Alternatively, colours that are warm in tone, like orange, will blend well with the hue. Try yellows and warm, camel browns with your orange shoes for a well paired look.

What to Wear with Yellow Shoes

Yellow shoes are such a fun accessory to wear. Full of colour and life, yellow shoes will put a smile on everyone’s face. Their bold hue looks fantastic when paired with a simple, monochrome outfit. They instantly become a standout feature while remaining chic and somewhat understated. Yellow shoes also look great with all shades of blues. Navy, in particular, looks superb with yellow, especially for formal occasions. Green, a colour next to yellow on the colour wheel, also matches well with this vibrant tone.

What to Wear with Green Shoes

As green and red are complementary colours, they look good together. However, for an outfit, green and red may leave you looking like a Christmas tree rather than a street style star. Remedy this problem by pairing your green shoes with hot orange hues instead. Orange will have a similar effect as red without any of the Christmas connotations. Try choosing an item of your outfit in orange and keeping the rest plain in black, brown, neutrals or navy. Alternatively, yellow, which is located next to green on the colour wheel, looks great too.

What to Wear with Teal Shoes

In between green and light blue, teal is a unique colour to wear. It’s also a gorgeous colour, though, particularly when found in footwear. Teal’s soft, feminine hue looks best when paired with other light colours, such as white, coral, pink and light brown. These colours look fresh together and carry an air of springtime about them. If soft isn’t your thing, however, try rich navies and bold reds instead for a dramatic look that brings out the blue in your teal shoes.

This season, give your style a reboot from the feet up with some more inspired footwear options. Have fun!

As the weather gets colder, it can be tempting to throw style out the window and simply grab the warmest coat in your wardrobe. You know the one. The one that’s comfortable and warm but leaves you looking like an unfashionable marshmallow. Whether you decide to invest in just one or buy the whole lot, these coats are bound to turn this chilly season into your chicest season.

Trench Coat

A trench coat is an essential wardrobe item for every woman. Despite beginning its life as a raincoat for the British Army, this simple style has become a feminine classic for women all over the world. If you don’t already own one, make this the season you invest into one. After all, every style icon from Audrey Hepburn to Kate Moss has owned one, so why shouldn’t you? The lightweight, weather proof style is perfect for transitioning in and out of winter and can be worn with anything. Dress it down with jeans and sneakers for day, or up with a dress and heels for night.

Toggle and Duffle Coat

Headed on a winter holiday to the mountains or country? Pack a toggle or duffle coat with you and you won’t be sorry. These chic styles are made to be out in nature during winter. Traditionally made from thick, woollen material, duffle coats are comfortable, warm and practical. They feature wooden toggle fastenings with rope or leather loops to hook onto, and large front pockets. Most styles also feature a hood and finish at thigh-height. Choose a camel brown version for a traditional look and pair with blue skinny jeans and boots.

Parka and Anorak Coat

Parka and anorak coats tend to finish at the thighs and be loosely fitted, with anoraks featuring a drawstring waist. Made from thick, sometimes waterproof material, both styles tend to feature hoods and zip/press stud closures. This relaxed style is traditionally seen in khaki and army green tones, adding a somewhat masculine touch. The style is perfect for casual, urban looks and goes great with black, skinny jeans and boots. Choose an anorak for warmer days and a parka with added down or shearling for colder weather.

Pea Coat

A pea coat is a classic outerwear style for both men and women. Originally worn by sailors, this traditionally woollen coat is well designed to keep you warm in winter and looks totally fashionable to boot. Featuring a double breasted front and typically finishing just below the hip, pea coats make a polished addition to any outfit. Wear this style with pants to offset its short length and add a contrasting sweater underneath to give your style some dimension.

Military Coat

Today’s military coat is a stylish reinterpretation of the traditional men’s military coats. Featuring a fitted bust and waist, a double-breasted closure and classically metal buttons, this style is feminine and strong all in one. Far from looking like a marshmallow, this coat will have you looking sexy! The military coat’s structured, hourglass silhouette makes it one of the most flattering styles while its thick fabric ensures that it’s still one of the warmest. Just choose a colour and length to suit you and you’ll be wearing this classic coat year after year.

Well this year, it’s time to let that coat gather some dust as you discover that fashion and function do work together. Enjoy!

Tips for Finding the Perfect Blazer

Tips for Finding the Perfect Blazer

There are just those pieces that every woman must have in her closet and a great fitting blazer is certainly one of them. Below I’m detailing a few of my favorite tips for finding the perfect blazer. Pay attention, it’s time to get buttoned up!

Find your fit

While wearing a blazer, stand near a wall and slowly lean into it. If the shoulder pad hits the wall first and scrunches up, it’s too big. If the shoulder pad and your natural shoulder touch the wall at the same time, it’s a good fit. If your natural shoulder rests against the wall but the shoulder pad does not, it’s too small. It’s a simple way to check the fit when standing in a dressing room. When in doubt, make sure the seams match up directly with your shoulders.

Explore different lapels

Make sure lapels are in proportion with your figure. That said, play with different lapel sizes for more fashion forward looks from exaggerated and oversized to barely there. There’s a ton you can do with lapels to showcase your style.

Add variety!

While you want to be sure you have a few neutral, great fitting, go to blazers in your wardrobe, perhaps opt for a fun alternative like one in a floral pattern, overall bright color, or stripes, even!

Play with proportions

While there are certainly objections to any rule, stick to fitted, shorter styles when pairing a blazer with a skirt. Want to rock a longer look, like a boyfriend blazer? Pair with pants.

Blazers are always in style, are the perfect layering pieces for work as well as play. It can be styled a multitude of different ways. When done right, they can add curves, or vice versa, make those last five pounds disappear.
